Movement & Art

    • Q: What should be worn to class?

      • A: Please refer to the Dress Code on pages 5 and 6.

    • Q: Is there a maximum number of dancers in a class?

      • A: Yes. Our younger student classes and all ballet classes are capped at 12 dancers/class. Our teen and adult classes are capped at 16 – 18 students.

    • Q: Where do I enter the building for my dance class?

      • A: Refer to page 4 for specific class locations.

    • Q: What should I bring with me?

      • A: Bring a water bottle and comfortable dance clothes. We do have a water cooler and a water fountain (for refill use only) to refill your bottle. Be prepared to dance barefoot or wear dance shoes that have not been worn outside.

    • Q: Can I drop in to an in-person class?

      • A: Yes! Call the office at 919.828.1713 to register for a drop-in class. If there’s enough space in the class, you will be able to drop in. The price is $25 for Dance classes, $20 for Yoga and $10 for Fitness classes. Our COVID-19 and liability waiver must be signed before attending class. Two drop-ins per class are allowed. If you’d like to continue with the class, you will need to register for the remainder of the session. The price will be pro-rated with the drop-in fee applied toward the prorated cost.

    • Q: If a student misses a class, can they make it up in another class?

      • A: If a student misses a class, they are not allowed to make it up in another class, as that might be confusing for both the instructor and the student, especially if each class is building upon what was taught the week before.

      • A: You can “pin” the instructor, which will make their box the largest on your screen.

    • Q: What should be worn to class?

      • A: Art can be messy but that is half the fun so please dress for the mess! Students are encouraged to create freely and enjoy the process, so please wear clothing appropriate for creating. It is also recommended that participants bring an apron, smock or oversized shirt.)

Where do I go for class?

Where to Enter:

Downstairs Lobby Entrance: Students will ENTER and EXIT through the double doors on the LOWER LEFT of the building, along the circle drive.

Upstairs Side Lobby Entrance: Students will ENTER and EXIT through the SIDE LOBBY. Follow the sidewalk and stairs to the right of the building.

  • DROP-OFF & PICK-UP: When arriving for class, please note that Arts Together has two entrances. Locations of class arrival and departure are listed on the chart below and will also be posted on each door. Students will meet their instructors in the lobby before going up to class. The pick-up location will be the same as the drop-off location.

Due to the large number of students participating in our classes, we are unable to accommodate and be responsible for unsupervised children. Our lobbies are small, we ask that you arrive no more than 10 minutes before your class starts and that you pick up your child promptly after class.

PARKING AND SAFETY: Student drop-off and pick-up times are very busy timesfor our building. We share parking space with the Carriage House Senior Apartments right behind us and we need your help in order to be good neighbors.

    1. If you need to park in the circular driveway to assist your child into or out of the building, please pull all the way over to the right-hand curb, leaving the left lane open to through-traffic.

    2. If you will be waiting at Arts Together throughout your child’s entire class time, after dropping off your child, please move your car out of the circular driveway and park on Saint Mary’s Street, Jones Street or other neighboring streets.

    3. Please do not park (even for a minute) in the driveway leading to the rear of the building – this is a fire/emergency lane that must be left clear for access to the senior citizen apartments behind us

    4. The parking lot behind Arts Together does not belong to us. Please do not park there – no exceptions.

    5. During drop-off and pick-up times, our circular driveway and Saint Mary’s Street are both very busy – please always be alert to traffic and your child’s whereabouts.

If Arts Together is required to close due to an act of nature, the pandemic, state health mandates etc., In-Person Camps and Dance Workshops may switch to a virtual format.

Illness Protocols

At Arts Together, the health and safety of our community remain our top priority. In alignment with North Carolina’s latest guidelines and CDC recommendations, we continue to encourage proper hand hygiene, vaccinations, and considerate practices to minimize the spread of illness.

Our dance, art, and preschool classes are designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all participants. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our community healthy and vibrant as we navigate these times together.

  • Stay Up To Date on Vaccinations

    • Staying up to date on routine vaccines is essential to prevent illness from many different infections. Vaccinations are now available for all ages over 6 months.

    Stay Home When Sick

    • People with symptoms of infectious diseases, including COVID-19, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and gastrointestinal infections, should stay home and get tested for COVID-19. Students must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to Preschool or classes.

    Hand Hygiene Etiquette

    • Washing hands can prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Hand washing and hand sanitizer are highly encouraged and used often.

    Cleaning and Disinfection

    • We clean surfaces at least once a day to reduce the risk of germs spreading by touching surfaces. There will be easy access to hand sanitizing and continued promotion of handwashing. There are increased cleaning protocols within the building.
