MISSION
To cultivate individual, creative strengths through the arts in a diverse, inclusive, collaborative, and nurturing community.
VISION
All members of the community have access to engaging and transformative arts experiences.
VALUES
We cultivate creativity, community, confidence, and collaboration in all we do.
Arts Together’s mission is to provide accessible, year-round arts education programs that foster creativity, collaboration, and confidence in a diverse and inclusive community. We believe in the transformative power of the arts and strive to cultivate individual creative strengths through an integrated curriculum of visual art, dance, music, and drama.
Our programs, from toddler to adult, offer a wide range of experiences for all ability levels, are designed to nurture personal growth, hone artistic skills, and encourage collaboration.
In addition to fostering creativity, we provide challenging options for students seeking advanced development, particularly in dance. For those who want to take their artistry to the next level, our curriculum includes specialized classes that support technical growth and performance opportunities. We aim to create an environment where students of all abilities can be challenged, inspired, and supported in their journey.
Since our founding in 1983, we have remained committed to our core values of creativity, community, collaboration, and confidence. We seek to inspire lifelong engagement with the arts, ensuring everyone can experience the joy, empowerment, and skill-building the arts provide.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility
At Arts Together, we believe that the arts are a powerful catalyst for change and should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or financial need.
Our mission is to create an inclusive environment where individuals from all backgrounds can experience the transformative power of the arts. We recognize that diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility are essential to the strength and success of our organization. We strive to foster an environment where all voices are heard, valued, and respected.
To achieve this, we pledge to:
Listen and Learn: Actively engage with and learn from communities of color and other marginalized groups to understand their experiences and perspectives.
Reflect and Act: Continuously reflect on our own practices and policies to identify and dismantle any forms of systemic racism and bias within our organization.
Promote Equity: Ensure equitable access to our programs and resources and support underrepresented artists and communities.
Educate and Advocate: Provide ongoing education and training for our staff, volunteers, donors and participants on issues of diversity, equity, accessibility, inclusion, and advocate for social justice within and beyond our organization.
Build Community: Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone feels a sense of belonging and empowerment through the arts.
Serve All Abilities and Ages: Offer programs that cater to individuals of various abilities and ages, from our multi-arts preschool to our senior programs, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage with and benefit from the arts.
We acknowledge that this is an ongoing journey and we are committed to making continuous improvements. Together, we can create a more just and equitable world through the power of the arts.

Located just shy of downtown Raleigh on Saint Mary’s Street, we are conveniently located less than a block from Hillsborough Street and across from Saint Mary’s School.
Arts Together resides in the Tucker Carriage House, a 19th century historic landmark owned by Raleigh Housing Authority. Arts Together renovated the building for Raleigh Housing Authority in the early 1980’s, thereby saving an historic treasure for the capital city so that it could be enjoyed by generations to come. This rare structure, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, still stands today because a coalition of public and private agencies worked cooperatively to make it happen. Arts Together was not only an ideally-suited tenant, but also drove the project ahead by securing funding to renovate the space. Its adaptation into bright, airy studios and classrooms is a testament to preservation and appropriate reuse. Arts Together and the Tucker Carriage House marry aesthetics and function in a way that breathes new life into a space steeped in the history of our city.

Due to Arts Together's location in the historic Tucker Carriage House, parking can sometimes be challenging. Streetside parking is the most convenient option for guests and students and is always free! We kindly ask you not to park in the drop-off circle in front of the building or in the private lot behind the building.
